Welcome to the beautiful madness we call life! We are the Carrolls—a lively family of six (plus pets and a few honorary members!), where “normal” is just a setting on the washing machine, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. From teen drama to eight-year-old antics, we’ve mastered (well, sort of) the art of organized chaos. Now, let’s meet the crew.
The Ringleader: Amber
Hey, I’m Amber—the multi-hat-wearing mom who runs a home rental office by day and a wellness business by night. ADHD? Check. Anxiety? Double check! It keeps life interesting, though, and also happens to be my superpower. I’m always juggling (and sometimes dropping) balls, but my love for finding balance—whether it’s in family, work, or life—keeps me grounded. My secret sauce? DNA drops and a sense of humor sharper than a toddler’s scream.
Logan: The Quiet Rock
Logan is the steady heartbeat of our crew. Nine years of marriage and still going strong. He’s the calm to my chaos—always cracking jokes when things get too intense and rarely seen without his beard (the one time he shaved it, I almost started a GoFundMe for it to grow back). Low-key superhero vibes? That’s Logan. He keeps the machine running while we’re all busy going off the rails.
Alivia (17): The Almost-Grown Sass Queen
Alivia’s 17 going on 27—at least, in her head. December might bring her the official title of “adult,” but we all know 18 doesn’t come with a manual for real life. She’s juggling school, friends, and enough attitude to make it interesting. DoorDash might as well sponsor her, and if she’s not ignoring her chores, she’s probably planning her next grand adventure. Alivia keeps things sassy, but underneath that teenage front, there’s a heart of gold. And just maybe, she’s realizing that adulting isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
Natallie (16): The Facetiming Philosopher
Natallie, our 16-year-old philosopher (when she’s not FaceTiming her friends, that is). She’s the deep thinker with a healthy dose of teenage moodiness. Catch her when she’s not telling me to “stop looking at her” for just existing in the same room, and you’ll find someone who’s always pushing boundaries—mentally, emotionally, and sometimes with her screen time limits. ADHD gives her these brilliant bursts of creativity, but it also comes with its challenges. Together, we’re figuring it all out... one exasperated eye roll at a time.
Presley (8): The Creative Whirlwind
Presley, our 8-year-old free spirit, is already convinced she’s in charge. She’s a YouTube-loving, fridge-art-conquering ball of creativity, and she doesn’t do anything halfway. Cats? Obsessed. The moon? Totally fascinating. And don’t even get her started on her latest masterpiece. Presley’s life motto is “why walk when you can cartwheel?”—which, in true ADHD style, means we’re always on our toes trying to keep up.
Josiah (18): The Gamer Guy Looking for His Path
Josiah is our 18-year-old, still searching for his direction like it’s the final boss in one of his video games. Spoiler: it’s not paying him but try telling that to someone deep into leveling up. He’s at that awkward cusp of adulthood, where possibilities are endless, and so are his gaming hours. We’re here for the journey and watching him figure it all out has been a ride. There’s a lot brewing beneath the surface—we just have to pry him away from the console long enough to see it.
Mariah (15 months): The Surprise Party
And then there’s Mariah—our sweet, surprise bonus baby. We got custody of her at just 6 days old, and at 15 months, she’s turned this family circus up a few notches. Her mom visits daily, so our house is basically grand central for love, laughter, and the occasional “what just happened?” moments. No, she’s not a secret love child, but the story’s wild enough to raise an eyebrow or two. We wouldn’t trade it, though—Mariah is the cherry on top of our chaotic sundae.
The Pets: Alex, Merlin, and Luna
Of course, we can’t forget the fur babies. Alex, our 7-year-old golden doodle, is the OG snuggle master. Then there’s Merlin, our cat who acts like he’s running things (and might be), and Luna, our little moon-watching feline. Between them, they bring just enough fur and fluff to balance out the human madness.
So, that’s us—The Carrolls. A little chaotic, a lot of fun, and always full of love. We’re constantly evolving, learning, and (hopefully) thriving together. It’s a roller coaster, but it’s our roller coaster. And if you stick around, you’re in for one heck of a ride!
